What is Tang Soo Do?
Tang Soo Do ("the way of the hand") is a traditional Korean martial art with roots stretching back over a thousand years, shaped by ancient Korean fighting styles and formalized in the 20th century into the discipline practiced around the world today.
It's a complete system built on three pillars:
Hyung (forms)
Choreographed sequences of movements that train precision, balance, and muscle memory while preserving the art's traditional techniques.
Self-Defense
Practical, realistic techniques for protecting yourself and the people around you.
Sparring
Controlled, live practice that builds timing, reflexes, and composure under pressure.
Unlike programs that focus only on competition or only on fitness, Tang Soo Do trains the whole person. Students progress through a ranked belt system, and each new rank represents not just a new set of techniques, but a new level of maturity, focus, and self-discipline.
